  • If a rider is over 71 they will need to provide a PRINTED medical certificate/letter which states that they are fit to drive and a letter from their insurance company stating that they are currently driving/riding and have not had an accident within the last 5 years.  This information must be received at least 5 working days in advance of rental commencement.
  • Our rental season is from May 1st to October 31st. Email enquiries are replied to all year round.
  • Riders must hold a valid driver's License from a country or state of permanent residence. International license is perfectly acceptable but not necessary. A pillion can ride a motorcycle once agreed with Celtic Rider staff before departure, license details photocopied and rental agreement form co-signed.
  • If the pillion passenger intends on riding the motorcycle allocated to the invoiced rider, a copy of licence must be scanned and emailed prior to arrival.

  • All motorcycles are supplied with full tank of petrol on pickup and should be returned with full tank, a refueling charge will apply if the motorcycle is returned without being filled.
  • All Confirmed Rental Agreements Deposits are non-refundable, but in the event of cancellation they can be used on an agreed alternative date or transferred to another person’s rental.
  • Motorcycles must be returned on time, no later than 4pm, this is a condition of the hire. Late return may result in extra hire costs, so please keep to agreed return time.
  • Rental period may be extended once agreed by contacting Celtic Rider staff. This happens quite frequently due to clients wishing to extend their adventure tour of our island.
  • You must notify Celtic Rider staff if you become aware of a fault or if the motorcycle becomes un-roadworthy for any reason.
  • Occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances chosen motorcycle is not available. In these cases we will offer a similar or upgraded motorcycle at no extra cost.
  • All tyres are tubeless and quality puncture repair kits are stored in every bike. A puncture does not constitute a breakdown. Hirers are responsible for damage to tyres.

  • Damage excess of €1500 is reserved on your credit card on collection of motorcycle depending on choice of model. For motorcycles going abroad the damage deposit is €2500. Your signature on the rental agreement page shall constitute authority for us to debit the final total charges against your account and your specific card-issuing organisation.
  • Celtic Rider office staff must be notified immediately of any accidents.
  • In the event of an accident, the full damage deposit will be taken from the authorised credit card and held by Celtic Rider until repair estimates are received. Where an accident occurs after which our motorcycle is deemed to be un-roadworthy and which is the fault of the client, the rental contract is immediately terminated with no refund. Clients will be notified by email or phone of cost of repairs and any refund due will be refunded immediately.

  • We work extremely hard to ensure that our bikes are in excellent condition for our customers. As such, our bikes are rented strictly for use on roads only. Our bikes are not to be taken off road or onto beaches. Strict financial penalties will be applied to renters taking our bikes off road or onto beaches.
  • Bikes taken out of Ireland or the United Kingdom must be covered by hirer’s fully comprehensive insurance.
  • The unlimited mileage clause of our terms and conditions does not apply to motorcycles taken out of the country. Excess mileage rates will be negotiated separately.
  • All tyres are tubeless and quality puncture repair kits are stored in every bike. A puncture does not constitute a breakdown. Hirers are responsible for damage to tyres.
